I have a SLP intake, 93's dont have a maf sensor. All the intakes out there are pretty much the same, if there is a best I would say the SLP one cus it dont pinch off between the abs and radiator.

i noticed that the slp has two tubes, does how does that affect air flow compared to a single tube , also what kind of filters come with the slp? are they reuseable and washable, (like the kind that you have to put that oil on after you get done cleaning them? or are they just the paper ones that you can throw away?thanks for your reply

My car had Moroso CAI when I bought it. It works great. It's not great looking but it still looks clean in the engine bay. All the CAIs you mentioned work the same... Whatever your preference is will determine what you buy. They all have reusable filters... SLP has two whereas K&N and Moroso have one big one. Moroso and K&N will run you less $$$ but I think SLPs look better... just my $.02

They are all the same, you wouldn't notice the extra .03 hp (if its that) that the K&n and Moreso will give. People say since the SLP is metal, it holds in more heat. Just go with what your budget can afford and if you want looks, nothing beats the SLP except for a blower

INDY93Z,,,, does the moroso intake go down further than the stock airbox??? i ask this b/c i seen this one mod a guy did where he cut a piece of his front air dam off and cut a hole in the plastic under the front facia out and it looked like it was almost poking out, did he have a moroso or was it a custom job? thanks for your response!

That's the free ram air mod, works good if your air filter is mounted in the "air well". That's how moroso and k&n mount. It's important to have the air going straight, with no turbulence, in to the maf. The duel tube style cai create turbulence. This has been beat to death on the C5 boards. Your 93 does not have a maf, but I still would want as little turbulence as possible.

D.T. steve.... would you think an airfoil mounted on the throttle body would straighten that turbulence out? this is off the subject but i really like the red alternator fan blade on your 30th annv., where could i get on like it and how much did it cost? thanks for the info!

'93's are speed density....do a seach on it and you can found out a lot more about it. I like my K&N CAI though...

does the moroso cold air kit #65845 work on my '93 . the reason i ask is b/c it says only 94-97 and the pic of it has it mounted to a MAF since our '93's dont have one is there going to be trouble mounting it or will it work just fine? thanks for your imput

You might want to choose a CAI that will work w/ your car. 93's are speed density, they have no MAF....you can probably get it to work, but, I would just get something done right the first time...

P.S. You could probably build your own after some measurements and a trip to Home Depot. It might not work all that great, but plenty of people have made their own ram-air @ home and done it very well and inexpensively. There's a guide to doing it....I think on http://www.projecttransam.com

94z28jbw.... when you say it "wont work" b/c of speed density ,could you explain how and why it doesnt work? is it something like the MAF reads how much air is being ingested which tells the ecm how much fuel to pump? or am i way off? thanks for the great link ! i am now considering doing that but if i could buy a kit that would be better . does k&n fipk apply the same principles as the moroso? thanks for your time!

THey're all about the same as far as power gains. The SLP looks the best IMO.

Hey JJJ93z the part number for '93 is 65840 not 65845. It is different because our '93s have no MAF so it fits differently on the intake elbow. Hope this helps.
