cold air intake, long tube headers, o/r pipes if not hi-flow cats, cat-back exhaust if you only have a muffler right now and 1.6 rockers. Those mods should put you darn close I think. I'll let others see what they say too.

well, let's break it down. If you're not going "home made" with anything, then......

CAI ~ $189
Cat-Back ~ $300 - $800 (depends on what brand)
1.6 Rockers ~ $279
LT Headers ~ $500 - $1000 (again, on brand)
Hi-Flow CATS ~ $100 - $200

So you're lookin anywhere from $1400 - $2500, depending on what deals u find and what brands you go with. Try lookin around for stuff in the for sale section or GP's. This also does not include labor.

I think you would be seriously hard pressed to do a cam for $400...Just a new timing chain alone is $185 and a gasket set is $85...even buying a used cam for $100 leaves you $30 for springs/locks/retainers/misc BS. A more realistic value is around $800+ altogether, depending on how much you get used.

How about a 150 shot of Nitrous! That will get you there.

Make sure you do all of the free mods as well. Could P&P the MAF and TB. but CAI, LT headers, no cat and catback should get you close.

why would you need to get your car reprogrammed with just cai, cutout, and headers... ? i have all that minus the cutout and my car runs as good as it did when i first got it... ofcourse i have more power than stock, but there are no codes or other issues (idle problems, running hot, etc.)... the better idea would be to save the programming until you get your heads, cam, and gears... right?

Just stick in the rockers, they're one of the cheaper items on the list and your chances of hitting 300 will be much greater over programming.

You need programing to get the car running to its fullest potential. Sure you can just start throwing mods on there and the car will respond to them, but a program will pull out even more power. I have seen tons of cars pick up anywhere from .2-.5 tenths from programing alone, and some even more.

This one guy i know went 13.0 at 106 with a CAI, cuout, and program. Tell me the programming doesnt have anything to do with it??? That thing had been flashed hundreds of times.

Nitrous. Then if you decide you want more, change the jets. Also gives you the power when you need it, saves gas and wear/tear on the engine (to some degree I'm sure).
