I know your wondering how I bent the crank. The car decided to do a little ditch running. My intercooler got pushed up in to the supercharger pulley that is on the end of the crank.

I did not know the crank was bent till I fixed the car and had it put all back together. I bought a new supercharger pulley and harmonic balancer and the stub that goes on to the crank. Now I have to yank the motor and put a new crank in. (didn't think the crank would bend)

My question is do I make it a 383 stroker? (No matter what Im going to put forged rods and crank in.) The motor was just rebuilt with forged pistons and reconditioned rods. Im running a P600 procharger kit with 8 pounds of boost, stock heads that are ported and polished and a LT4 kit ( intake, hot cam, roller...) I also have jet hot LT, spec 3 clutch and a moser 12 bolt. I would like to run 12 pounds of boost after I put the new forged parts in, and some good head gaskets. Thanks for your 2 cents!!

 

It's going to be harder to get the higher boost on a bigger cube motor, plus you should change the rest of the parts to work with the stroker. The cubes are nice but more than just a increase in displacement is needed to get the most out of it.

Get the shaft streightened.There are people who do that and can do it right.If it's a stock crank it wouldn't be worth it but a forged or billet,yea.

 

Ive been reading some other post, do I have to get the block machined for clearincing for the stroker crank and the rods??

 

Believe thats only if you go H beam rods or 6" rods. Not sure. Also believe you need to clearance for a 396, not a 383. I could be wrong.

 

383 will have to be clearanced,how much will depend on your rod choice.

 

Yeah even have to clearance a 355 if you use L19 rod bolts.... yeah fun stuff.

how did that hotcam kit work with the SC? I am putting my hotcam kit on my 355 with a supercharger and was wondering how it worked out. I know it is not ideal but it will have to work till i get some better heads and cam
