before/after results with PCMforLESS tuning?

My OBD2 PCM from PCMFORLESS.com should be arriving in the next day or so. My current mods are listed below. I am curious as to what kind of gains, fuel economy, engine smoothness are obtained from his tuning. I have heard nothing but good things about them. I mainly bought this tuning to correct my speedo after 4.10 gear install, but after hearing some people talk about how well he power tunes I am hoping for some decent gains at the track. A buddy picked up 3mph after installing a tuned PCM from him. My best time to date is 13.63 @104 on very bald 17" compt TA's. I will be running at the track friday now with new 17x11's with 315 nittos and PCMFORLESS.com OBD2 tuned PCM. With the addition of those, what do you all think I can run with a good launch?

I hate to speculate on what people will run. So I'll just say this. "You will be very happy with Bryan's tuning". My car has never run better.

I had my computer done after installing the hotcam kit and I went from 13.55@103 to 13.16@107 along with a ton better fuel mileage and driveability.

I would also like to know the results of the pcmforless tuning. I would like to get my PCM tuned by pcmforless by wondering how much of a gain I would get from his tuning with the minor bolt-ons I have. I would like his tuning for my shift points since I swapped in 3.42s. The only programming I have is the HPP. I have programed my fans to come on early and also to caliborate the pcm for the gears. Please keep us posted on your results or if someone else has got the pcm tune and have only minor bolt ons. Thanks.

I have always heard that even for the BFG drag radials the 275 is better than the 315 because the 315 has little or no side walls with the 35 series. 315 are great for the street because you don't have a chance to do a burn out and can't drop the pressure. But on the tracks you want as much side wall as possible. And even better get some ET street. I don't know for the Nitto though.

something to keep in mind.

Good luck

the side walls on the 315s and the 275 are about the same. The 35 or the 45 is a ratio to the width of the tire. So the tire gets wider and the ratio goes down to keep the sidewalls about the same.

Yes you are correct, even though they are a 35 series tire the sidewall is actually very big on those tires. I have found that (atleast on the street) that the 275-40 nittos are not sufficient for traction with the 4.10 gears. Only when it is very cool outside (which is rare here in FL) that I can spin the 315 nittos in first gear. On the normal 80 degree days they wont spin at all.

My Alvin-tuned '93 picked up .15 seconds on the same night, same lane, same mods, comparing stock chip to PCMFORLESS.

I have before and after timeslips, which are posted on the PCMFORLESS site if you want to see.

I changed the chip at the track, and did it as quickly as possible.

All runs same lane, street tires.

At the time my car was bone-stock 'cept K&N FIPK (cold air intake) and FlowMaster American Thunder cat-back.

Still had manifolds, stock y-pipe and converter, 110K miles.

When you guys use PCM Forless do you just not drive for a few days? How long does it take typically?

Problem is I don't have an alternate car to drive.

I can install a PCMFORLESS daughter board/chip in about 20 minutes or less on a '93.

My current situation, I bought a chip burner... I send Alvin DataMaster files, he sends me back .bin files (under 40K)... I flash them to a spare EPROM, then change just the EPROM on the car (I can flash a chip and install it in under 15 minutes).

Too bad we don't have a winter here in Houston. Even with the few mods I have is it worth it to get the PCMforLess? I'd like my fans to come on sooner to go with my 160* stat. More Horsepower is always a plus too.
