Before and after dyno #'s of XE 224/230!
My car previously made 276.2 RWHP and 300.3 RWTQ with MAC shorty headers (single cat) Borla exhaust, K&N CAI, and Bryan Herter tuning (PCMforless). My car is a 1995 Z28 A4 with 3.73 gears. After installing the XE 224/230 with Combination Motorsports valvesprings, Chromely pushrods, 1.6 CC Pro-magnum self-aligning rockers, CSI electric water pump, and a Cloyes true double roller timing chain I pulled 322.6 RWHP and 320.8 RWTQ! I was very pleased with the results! Bryan Herter did the tuning for my new setup and the car could even yield a little more horsepower as it runs rich up top. I was going to get track #'s also, but my stock 4L60-E called it quits after racing a 2000 LS1 this weekend on the street
. It just smacks off the rev limiter for the 2-3 shift unless I completely let off the gas. So hopefully I can scrounge some money up and have LT1Dave build me my new 4L60-E. But I gained 46.4 RWHP with the XE 224/230 and I still have all my low-end torque and fantastic powerband up top!

Glad everything went well. I think you may need some long tubes. I think you could at least have made 340 on that setup with long tubes. Bu then again it could also have been your gears that affected your numbers. I dont know, maybee im wrong.
Yes, they are stock heads completely untouched. The stock converter is o.k. with that cam, but at stoplights you really have to push down on the brake pedal so the car doesn't go foward. I guess that is mainly because my idle is set at 850 rpm in gear and 800 in neutral. I am going to drop those #'s 100 rpm so the cam will lope a little more. I am going to go with a 3200 stall with my new tranny so that should really wake things up with some nice sticky tires!

i just installed the cam a couple days ago but on a 110 LSA... if i ever get my damn intake back from the poweder coating shop i took it to then ill get some dyno #s to compare. and stock heads with a 6 spd should be interesting since you have an auto.. they typically put down a little less to the ground. but those are some nice #s!

Rich, What made you decide on 114? I'm looking at this cam, and will prob. get it ground on a 114 as well. My car is daily driven, and I don't want too many issues. Oh, and how does it sound? I like a bit of lope, but not too much. Thanks.
