balancer/pulley/hub
balancer/pulley/hub
Ok, I was putting stuff back together on my motor today, fuel rails, opti, waterpump, etc. and I totally forgot to look at the balancer/pulley and hub that I bought off of a guy on here (it's off of a 94z). After everything was pretty much put together I compared the balancer and hub from the 94 vette motor to the new one I got and I'm a little confused. To start the hub that is currently on the vette lt1 has four holes drilled from the factory and the camaro one only has three, secondly the vette one is deeper by about an inch (it pushes the ribs for the crank pulley out a little ways and I assume this is so it would line up with the vette accesories), and the vette balancer feels like it might be a little bit heavier. Am I going to have a problem using the camaro balancer on a vette lt1 and can I just use the hub that is already on (vette hub with four holes drilled) or will I also have to switch to the hub to the camaro one with the three holes drilled? Would there be any other problems relating to depth of the balancer? I've switched all accesories over to stock camaro setup.
thanks
thanks
The Camaro parts should work. The hub/damper is neutrally balanced, so, if one is a little heavier or lighter, it's OK. You need your accessories to line up. I would use all F-body parts and F-body accessory brackets.
thanks. I talked to my step-dad and he said the same so I should be good.
