Question Bad water pump take out the OPTI?

Anyone here had a bad (leaking) water pump take out the Opti? I have noticed some real slight coolant coming form my pump but so far the car still runs great. I am going to replace the pump but I wonder how much moisture has to get on the Opti before it smokes? Any thoughts appreciated.

Thumbs up

I would swap out the water pump before it blows one day, leaves you stranded, and ruins your opti.

It varies opti to opti. Coolant leaks can take it out, but not always. It just depends on how well your opti is sealed. Get your pump replaced so you don't have to find out.

Opti owners always need to keep an eye on any leaks coming from the WP weep hole. Change your WP when leaking starts and you will probably save your opti.

Can someone fashion a peice of metal that is bent just enough to direct the water off the harmonic balancer? If it didnt hit that it wouldnt get slung all over hells half acre under there. I know cuz mine is no longer "weeping" its pouring baby. LOL straight out as I fill the radiator. New pump on the way.

I sealed my new opti by placing a silicone bead over it,even if the WP craps out the opti will stay dry!!!
