Bad Vibration at 90mph+...PLEASE HELP!?!?!

I recently did a clutch install on my car. Everything seemed fine. But today on the freeway i took the car over 90mph, only to feel an extreme amout of vibration. It doesn't matter what gear i'm in. As long as i go over 90mph or higher(the higher the more it vibrates). The part that vibrates as far as i can tell is the tranny. Because if i put my hands on the shifter it is vibrating very bad. What do you think this could be? Because it didn't do this before the clutch install. Please help me. Thanks.

I don't know if your vibration is clutch related, but my car was getting a bad vibration like yours right on the gear consule,i changed to an aluminum driveshaft no more vibration .Hope this helps.

I had the same problem when I put my new wheels on, mine was due to an unbalanced wheel, I dont know if this would help your problem or not though.

its 99% most likely the steel drive shaft you have..... Ask me how I know! Just get a used LS1 3" aluminum DS and your good to go!

Did you mark the driveshaft in relation to the yoke when you removed it? If not, you probably have it on 180* out. Just drop the driveshaft, rotate it 180*, and bolt it back up. That might solve your problem.

Yeah i marked the driveshaft before i took it off. I put it back on the same way. Also the car hasn't done that before. Only after i did the clutch install. Do you think the ds could just get messed up like that? I guess i could try a aluminum driveshaft but i rather not if i don't have to because i'm trying to save for my headers.

You can get a used LS1 driveshaft off ebay for ~$70. Give it a try it seems to work for most people.

Try replacing the U-joints then, and if you still have the problem, then I would do like the others suggested and try an LS1 or 1LE driveshaft; and you'll already have new U-joints for it

Sometimes, just removing a driveshaft and bolting it back up will cause U-joints to start to fail (learned this with my 4x4). Replacing them is pretty cheap too.

Does the damper on the front of the LS1 driveshaft make for a much smoother ride than a 1LE ds? Looking to buy one tomorrow, need to know thanks!
