ok so i did a trany R&R and now when i reach about 55-65 mph i get a really bad constant vibration if i put the car in nutral and rev it the vibration does not change.

i dont think its the wheels because i havnt touched them, what would be some of the causes.

drive shaft?
flywheel?
converter?
?

 

Your driveshaft could be out of balance, ive heard of fbodys having this problem before. But you didnt do anything to the driveshaft did you? This makes me think something could be wrong with the transmition. Talk to the shop who did the rebuild and ask them.

 

ima try to rotate the DS 160 deg and see if that works.

I bolted the trans on first the had to spin the flywheel to line up with the converter, it was a pretty tight fit so i had to hold the converter still with a prybar while i turned the flywheel into place.

do u thin that had anything to do with it?

 

Get the driveshaft balanced

 

i turned it 180 deg and the vibration is gone
