Hey guys I made a long drive from NJ to West Palm Beach Fl, and I am stuck here. The car sputters, then dies when the car either gets hot 210 or after an hr + of driving. When it sputters, if I try to give it gas it dies immediately, and I can smell unburnt fuel.
I have now replaced the ICM and the Coil. Cleaned the maf, checked my igntion wires, and connections to the opti. The opti is 2 yrs old. The car had no problems driving down, just when I was on my way out of Florida. Any thing else I am missing?

 

Is the SES light on?

 

No SES light comes on. I'm trying to locate a friend who has a scanner because this has me really stumped. If the temp sensor in the waterpump is bad it would show incorrect temp readings all the time correct? Now I drove 1200 miles with no issues and it was normal mpg the whole trip down. No missing or sputtering. The crazy thing is its fine at 180deg, but when it gets up to the middle line before the fans come on it loads up and the idle gets messed up, then drops to 500rpm and dies from there.

 

not a good solution but you could throw a 160 degree thermostat in their to make it home if you had to. or just run no thermo at all if you had to.. Like i said not a good solution but should be enough to get you home.
