i am pretty sure my problem was my opti spark, so after just over 2 hours i have it off. When i spin the shaft i hear a bunch of clanking inside. I have a good opti from a buddy, and it makes no noise.

So the clanking inside means the opti is definatly bad?

Also, does anyone know of a good write up of how to swap over to an electric water pump? And anyone who has done it, how much effort is involved in it?

if you hear clanking inside, it's garbage... You could open it up, and try to repair the damage, or IMO you should just replace it with another AC DELCO unit. Do it right the first time, as these things are a pain to change.
