Post Bad exhaust smell..... please help me ASAP!!!!

Came home from work.. parked the car in the garage. 2 hours later i go into the garage to leave and i smell a gas smell in the garage, so i crank my car and smell gas like instantly. I popped my hood to see if i have a leaking injector and everything looked good.. no fuel anywhere. I keep the car running and get out to look to see if there are any drips and didn't see any. I get down under my car by my exhaust tips and smell raw fuel. It seems like it is coming out of the exhaust ( burned my eyeballs it was so strong ). I filled up my car yesterday and yes i topped it off after it had stopped. The smell just came in tonight and it is bad. What could be the problem here? If it were leaking, wouldn't i of seen
fuel on the ground when i went under it while it was running?

Please help me out here

Thanks
-Mike

I would suggest gutting your cat and see if that helps if it's not already done.

I would think a clogged cat would make the car run rough. I cant gut the cat yet cause i am getting it inspected today or tomorrow. I just dont understand why all of the sudden it started this. The car runs great and there are no flaws in the performance!

Running rich! Normally its due to O2 sensors, or maybe a exhaust leak. Also, check your PCV valve, it may be stuck. Just pull it out and shake it, if you here the ball inside moving its ok, if not replace it. Also, check your air filter.

checked the pcv valve, it is still good. all the bolts to the headers are nice and tight. o2's were replaced last year with the ac delco's. what else can i check?

sounds like you dont even have a cat first off... that doesnt smell too good. You may also be running rich. Tough to just guess from a 6' long list of possibilities what the problem is w/o any computer data.
