Bad Alt?

OK Check it out. I think i have a bad ALTinator. I just put a new cam in the motor. 224/236 XE. I had the car running today trying to adjust the rocker arms. I was making progress. So I turned the car off. Fixed a radaitor hose. AND now I CANT get the SUMAMA BISCUT back on now. The motor will just turn and turn and turn. BUt will not fire up. Here are some other things the car does
1: I often have to play with the positvie Termnial Cables to get the starter to engage.

2:When I crank the motor it starts to turn and turn and after a couple of turns. It suddenly stops followed by (CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK) and then Dies out. The i have to go back to the positvie terminal wiggle it and the starter engages again.

3: WHen I turn the to crank the motor. it WIll turn and turn and then the turns get slower and slower almost as if something is dragin the motor.

Thanks for the help

well number 3 i think is because its draining the battery not having the alternator running. I dont think the alternator starts running until the engine is running.

make sure the terminals are clean. are you talking about the one on the battery, or the positive post where all the car's wires connect? I thought I had a weak electrical system before and it turned out to be just the nut on the connection post being a little loose. what exactly are you wiggling?

Im wiggling the Cables that are connected to the positve terminal. theres a black and RED cable all in one for the positve. I have to move that UP and down so that the starter will engage. And the other Drama happens.

follow the wire you're wiggling, it's either the battery terminal or the connection post that's loose.

YEah i think its the connection post. Cuase somtimes when im cranking the motor. IT will go Crank crank crank. And the car just DIES. I keep the key in the on postiion GO over to the postive termnial were the wires are connected to the battary wiggle that ANd then you can hear the starter engage.
