this morning i took off and when i slowed down i heard this clanking noise at the rear of the console. i looked under the car and the rear end is there, could i have messed up the rear end or the u-joints?? please help cuz i have to work and i dont want to stay stranded somewhere.

 

Is it coming from your rearend or your console? If its coming from console its your tranny mount, if from the back might be a spider gear. Put a jack under your trans and jack it up and see if it lifts off the trans mount.

 

the noise comes from right at the end of the console, if i put my hand on the carpet at the end of the console i can feel the clanking. also i was told that it might be the the parking brake cable since it sits close to the drive shaft, and mine is disconnected because of my aftermarket brakes.
