B&M Shift plus electronic shift improver

Wassup fellas, i'm new to the forum and I have a question for the experts or for anyone that knows the answer. Obviously, i don't have a camaro hence the username. anyway, my friend has a 93 Z28 with an automatic tranny. I assume that it has the 4L60E, but the B&M shift plus package mentions that the code MT1 or M30 in the glovebox is required. Is this true or will it work on my friends camaro anyway. I looked for the code but couldn't find it. I need some feedback immediately, thanks.

I would imagine you found RPO code MD8, since what is in the 1993 is a 4L60-no "E". It is the non-electronically controlled version, basically the same as a 700R4.

The Shiftplus will not work on it and you probably don't want to use it anyway. It only raises line pressures in the tranny and keeping them that way is not real good for it.

It wont work on a 93 they did not have the electronic trans only a 4L60 the e part didn't apply untill 94 and I would be wary of using it on the 94 and up because the increased line pressure in the higher settings could result in ware and possable premature failure of the transmission.
