Autozone Optispark, Yeah or Neah
I have heard nothing but bad things about the opti replacements sold at Autozone. Did you opti go bad already? If so I would wait for Delteq to come out with there stage 2 because you are suppose to be able to run the LTCC in conjunction with it.

I have an Autozone Opti on my '94 Caprice.
5 months and ~8K miles, it works great. No problems what so ever. I even disassembled it before I put it on, the parts and marterial *appeared* to be just as good as GM. My last GM opti only lasted 25Kmiles.
this is 1st hand experience as opposed to other peoples hearsay

I went up to autozone today and checked out their optispark. It uses the same mitsubishi components that GM does. The only thing that would be different is the bearings, but the ones from GM were never that great to begin with. The cap and rotor are sold separatly.
IMO this is not a bad deal. I would probably get a cap and rotor from GM though. Since I dont use the high voltage from the optispark, you cant beat this deal!

Ok so I go and put a new optispark in from autozone. It lasted less then 15min
Something failed in the bearing area. when I pulled it out you could move the shaft 1/4". It ended up taking out the sensor. Ill give it one more shot before I go back to GM.

I got an opti and cap and rotor from O'reily's. They work great and the best thing about them is they both have life time warrenties. So if any of it break I can get a new one for free, can't beat that with a stick.

Howerver, a couple of board members from Utah and Florida have gotten the complete opti with cap and rotor from their local stores. Best thing to do is check with your local store and see what they are offering. From what I've gathered, different Autozone areas obtain there parts from different supplier/mfg locations, so it's very possible that the optispark packaging will vary from region to region.
You can also order online - www.autozone.com - if I remember correctly.

It it's just the opti portion only would this work as is for the LTCC?
Then you could just put some sealed up plug boots over the plug portion and connect the optical.
What do you guys think that have had this?
Mike
