Auto Launch??

What is the best way to do an auto tranny launch?? I'm all stock w/firestone firehawk 255's on the back. Just wondering what would be best on a well prepped track. Do the brake-torque method to say 1200rpm or just idle and punch it? I've done a search and haven't really found what looking for. Need to know asap. Thanks a bunch!!!

I agree with the previous posts. Torque braking is the way to go, just experiment with the right RPM. I lauch around 1300 or 1400, but I have 2.73's so I can launch a little harder without spinning...

when i was stock i did the brake thing but not up real high. i punched it hard enough to barly spin and feather the throttle to keep from roasting the tires, but not a solid hook becouse stock means underpowerd so when i got a solid hook i bogged even eith the auto. just found i ran better with the just right amount of wheel spin.

I was pulling 2.1 60's by doing a half throttle punch then full throttle punch and was still breaking the tires loose. Need a better prepped track and some DR's and I think I'll hit 1.8's

Never had tires that would hold braking.....they couldn't even hold off idle......lol. It's all about not spinning the tires.
