i still have the same problem overall with my car but i have narrowed it down to a more consistent problem....

before it would barely run at any time but after replacing MAP sensor, oxygen sensor, fuel pres. regulator, injectors...etc

it fires right up and runs very strong with no signs of miss or smoke at all for about 1 minute but after about 1 minute after every start, the engine races way up on its own for about 5 seconds and emits a large amount of black smoke then barely runs, then dies...(floods)

this happens every time you start the engine(after letting it set for a little while)

has anyone had the similar problem? please help

Sounds like it's a closed loop problem. I don't know where to begin though. Sorry.

I had a similar problem with a bad engine coolant temp sensor. I would get into closed loop and the ECT had a problem and would register -40 degrees and the PCM would kick it back into open loop (after seeing the engine temp being incorrect) and add a whole bunch of fuel. Mine set a couple codes for intermittent ECT high voltage, ECT performance, ect. I would check codes first to see what you have. More than likely, there will be something stored in there.

Just my .02

This is usually the point where you get into the need for some data logs. It's just too hard to guess without some facts to go on.

See? A scanner would have pinpointed that immediately.

I am a genius!! Thats what I kinda figured it was. Did you ever get the codes scanned or did you just shotgun it and throw a part on it???
