I really need some help. I have been hunting down a vibration problem or some type of misfire. My local mechanic told me it is mechanical and is somewhere in my valvetrain. Well i took off the valve cover looking for bent pushrods and i found my rockers messed up. I really need someone to post a pic for me so i can show you what is wrong. The edge of the rocker that sets on the valve is torn up. The self aligning washers on one side are seriously messsed up and it ate up some of the rocker. What would cause this. Everyone of the rockers is messed up but only 2 look real bad. PLease help!

Sounds like they weren't tight enough and skipped up above where the teeth would hold them aligned.

They really dont look smashed, more of the looks of being forced over and the metal is compressed. It seems like these have been making noise ever since the cam. I had the rockers on before the cam with no problems and now this.

Again, sounds like an issue with the rocker adjustment.

Sounds like you have a valve train geometry issue.

Yes Yes Yes, Shoebox, The car tore up all the rockers, Everyone one of them had damage on it. Just got done putting the stock ones back on and bam the vibration is still there. The car doesnt run right, Really rough, Not really a miss, Just wont wrap up through the RPM's and sounds horrible. Also extremely low on power. Got it scanned at a mechanic and he said every sensor looks great. Plugs, wires, O2's, Opti, all brand new. It wont even run without it felling like its going to fall apart. Pushrods look great. Maybe bent valve, or bad cam and lifters. MEchanic said it has to be mechanical. Im totally clueless and in depserate need of this car this week. College is starting back up. PLease Help. Throw out any suggestions to try please!

Alright, please help. Replaced all rockers with stock ones and the vibration is still there. The car doesnt run right. It wont wrap up through the RPM's and it sounds horrible. It shakes the car really bad and i feel it really bad through the shifter and pedals. It runs really slow and has a really bad loss of power. Opti, O2's, plugs and wires are fine. It seems like one or 2 cylinders are firing. He scanned it and found all sensors to be perfect. He swears for it to be mechanical and not electrical. From 2000 all the way up it runs really bad. The whole car shakes. Im thinking bad cam, lifters, bent valve, blown head gasket between cylinders. Please help as i am in desperate need of this car soon. Any suggestions throw them out there please. It has to be valvetrain related like shoebox said since it messed up the rockers. PLease help

If you are using stock length pushrods, something must have happened. It looks to me like you are looking at some tear down just to try to figure out what occurred. Maybe a jumped tooth on the timing gears or something.

Jumped tooth sounds good, maybe bad bearings, i wanted to throw that suggestion out and see what you think, I replaced the timing chain but for some reason it may have jumped, I have stock length pushrods becuase i did not know i needed to change them since i did not change the head surface or even pull the heads, Please shoebox, throw out some more suggestions. I really need this car!

Try readjusting the rockers. Maybe you tightend a few of them down to much? Just a thought.

I don't know how it's going to be figured out unless it is dissected. Parts will have to come off.
