ARP Rocker Studs
ARP Rocker Studs
While getting ready to install my new 7/16 ARP rocker studs, I read the instructions to check for correct torque spec. While reading, it specifies to use ARP moly lube when installing.
Should I use any type of sealer or lube when installing these studs into the heads? I have bone stock heads.
I have the following to use if needed : ARP thread sealer, GM NPT paste and Permatex #2. I have others, but figured these would be the best to choose from. Any help is appreciated.

Now it looks like the rocker studs are too long. I should have known things were going too well. I bought the Pro Series studs that are meant for roller rockers part # 234-7206.
Does anybody know the correct part # for the Pro Series 7/16 studs that I need? Is it 234-7202?

The max lenth the threads can be is .5" with guideplates but I think you
already found this out.
Whatever you do DON'T use the ARP sealant!!!!!
I repeat, DON'T use the ARP sealant on rocker studs!!!!!
Even though this applies to ported heads, it's good general practice to
use Permatex #2, GM sealant or other appropriate sealant for all rocker studs.
