I can't believe you're having problems with the install. It MAYBE took me an hour to install them. That includes pulling the dipstick tube out.

Yeah, I guess I'll just have to pull my transmission out then huh?

Seriously, even IF I pulled the tranny, that still doesn't fix the collector-flange-hitting-the-damn-k-member problem. So it looks like I'll have to "clearance" my k-member with a BFH. I guess that beats cutting/grinding it or having to buy an aftermarket one.

collector-flange-hitting-the-damn-k-member problem? sounds like you need new motor mounts . this happens when they are old and need replaced ... i have not did them no this type of car so i can't help you on that . but you can all ways cut that flange off and weld a piece of 3" on and clamp or weld on to that if you want, and bang the floor up if you don't like your car (lol). thats the easy way out .

I agree this could very well be a contributing factor. However, my old rusty Hooker shorties fit PERFECTLY; the AS&Ms don't.

I have RK Sport headers which are a AS&M knock off. My passenger side header collector flange was banging the k-member with good motor mounts. I had to clearance the k-member some with a disk grinder to resolve the problem.

Even with new engine mounts, I had to clearance my passenger side AS&M.
