Arcing plug wires fixed for good.....
Arcing plug wires fixed for good.....
Well it just rained an insane 3" of water in 30 minutes here in central Ky and the roads were extremely flooded. I hit puddles 6 inches deep and drove through standing water up to 10" deep.
Bottom line, no arcing spark plug wires period. Back several months ago the new Elite plug wires I had would arc under moderate rainy conditions and the engine would stumble, miss, die and not start. You could see and hear the sparks flying from the wires and going to ground once things dried out.
I now have the MSD 8.5 super conductors and todays storm was the ultimate test to determine if the arcing problem was fixed. There was no stumble, missing or lack of power. I am certain that the entire engine including the opti-spark got heavily soaked numerous times. I think I am luck my CAI did not suck up some water.
Just wanted to share this.

The storm hit so hard and fast I had no choice, I have never seen anything like it. The roads were flooded in just minutes, but yeah you are right its a crap shoot.
I have the MSD wires that you cut to length and assemblt the spark plug ends. It was not hard to do at all, took maybe an hour or so. The opti ends are alrady assembled.
These are the ones I used:
