Anyone use a MAFT for tuning?

I am contemplating buying one to get rid of my pig rich AFR down to 12.5-13.1 down low in the RPM's. I have a mailorder tune but i put a wideband AFR meter on my car and it was 10.1 AFR which is terrible. I would like to have it dynotuned but don't have $500 to spend. I have to have my trans rebuilt again first but i could afford a $100or so for a MAFT if it would fix my problem. Can you adjust the AFR at different RPM's with this? The car runs better at higher rpms in second gear it goes up to 12.1 AFR. If I knew how to tune the computer i would buy Tunercat and rent a dyno for an hour or so to get it alot better but i don't know anyhting about tuning with programs. It also runs better when it's cooler outside Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Clint
