Anyone tried out the pacesetter long tubes?

I know this was a topic a little while back, but i dont think anyone had tried them out. I was considering getting rid of my shorties for some long tubes. I was considering jethots and pacesetters. There is a slightly different design to each and a little price difference. I know the jethots are good, but i heard the pacesetters have a little better design. Any help especially from someone who has them would be great. Or from someone who went from shorties to long tubes. -Michael

Long tube headers are an awsome mod for an LT1, and will be one of my next. But i cant justify the close to $700 for Jet Hot or coated Hooker LTs. Im glad that they have come out with an affordable long tube. I think im gonna get coated too. Does anyone know if they will come close to bolting up to a mufflex Hooker/Jet Hot LT y-pipe??

im going coated for sure. I have uncoated shorties right now and they get hot as hell. It gets so hot under the hood, it burned a plug wire that wasnt even touching the header. I had heard bad things about the armor coating, but jethot charges like 150 or 200 and same with place in okc.

How is the install on the pacesetters compared to the hooker or jet-hot?

The quality and craftsmanship of Pacesetters are

But if they perform and work, eh, go for it!

I installed a set of these the other day and I wasn't impressed.

A/C line on the back of the compressor had to be bent (alot) to clear the #2 primary.

The collectors are up against the floorpan heatshields when installed. You can bend up the heatshields, but there is still hardly any floorboard clearance. Also, the y-pipe was ON the floor, no clearance at all.

I would buy Hookers or Jet-hots any day over these.

There is nothing that someone else can't make a little crappier and sell for a little less.

From the pics I've seen they look like complete and utter ****. The flanges aren't smooth, the welds look like they were done by a five-year old. They just look "cheap."

A/C line on the back of the compressor had to be bent (alot) to clear the #2 primary.

And obviously the design is lacking fitment issues.

I dunno, I just wouldn't buy them.
