Anyone still using electric waterpumps for your LT1?

I have a Mezerie waterpump that I never used and bought back in 1999. Was wondering what the long term consensus was on using electric waterpumps for the LT1. Reliable? Bad idea? Thanx

Use the Mess WP for 10k+ miles. No problems to report. Easy WP install/ disassembly now due to no drive spline alignment required. Also, run Evans NPG waterless coolant. App... 97ss 383 - D1 - M6.

just installed a CSR... no problems. I kinda had to get used to the fact that my cooling system is no longer RPM driven though.

I have a Meziere that's been running for almost a year (8k miles) with
no issues.

You say you have one from '99 and havent installed it? You might want
to call Meziere and see if they will trade it out with a more "modern" unit.
I've heard the older models had issues.

Has anyone had any coolant temp issues with the electric pump compared to the stock one? On real hot days the temp gauge moves up to the half way mark. I know that the coolant is good and there is no air in the system.
I almost want to go back to the stock pump if this continues.

I have had mine on for more then 3+ years now and for a few of those years the car was a daily driver that racked up some decent miles before it was turned into a race only car this year...

I never had this problem; the needle is always at the first 1/4, but I've different settings for the fans and a 160 degrees thermostat.
