Anyone running an N/A solid roller on a stock bottom end?
This is a sister post to my earlier post on solid rollers... just curious what kind of numbers guys are seeing out of these combo's, and what you are spinning up to. Most of the guys I have talked to (Joe O, Phil @ AI, etc) are recommending that I go solid.
I'm just trying to gather some information about the longevity side of it. What types of problems have you guys encountered? (Keep in mind, there ARE a bunch of posts on this, but it seems that most guys I've found are running large displacement motors revving past 7K).
Any info would be appreciated

You should let us know what your goals are for the builup, that way we can give more relevent info. We need to know the same things you were asked when you called AI, Joe and company.
Considering the current crop of 425-450 rwhp hydraulic cammed cars, I'd assume your goal is rather lofty. How drivable does this engine need to be anyways?

I've been busy with stuff these past two weeks and didn't have much time to respond... so here goes.
My car is a summer only car (100-150 miles per week April to October) and I'm starting to open track it. The motor has started to show signs of a failing head gasket (white smoke out the exhaust) and this seems like the ideal time to swap cams again.
I've been in 1LEThumper's blown 383 solid roller car a few times, and it seemed to have surprisingly good street manners... aside from scaring children and suffocating small animals
. This experience made me realize that having over 500 rwhp wasn't as unstreetable as I thought it would be. At least by this logic, an NA 350 with a well-chosen solid roller grind shouldn't be too much to handle.
At least from my perspective a solid roller setup will provide me with plenty of power on tap as I get more experienced on the track, and I have an appropriately low amount of annual mileage.
Thanks for the info guys!

Yes, but keep in mind that your buddy's car is a poor comparison to what you're looking to do. He has cubes and he has boost. Makes a high level of tq and hp all the more streetable!
If you are still adamant about doing this then I will recommend talking to someone who can set up the entire valvetrain for you. Much more to this than choosing a cam and lifter package.
Two cams I can recommend are the Comp XR280 (242/248) and XR286 (248/254). I've used both of these cams and with a good deal of tuning, they can be streetable.... especially with fuel injection. Cam Motion also makes some nice SR street grinds. Either way, those are good street rollers that should make in the area of 450rwhp with a well setup 350.
If you want details on how I set those up then shoot me a PM.
