Is anyone running BF GOODRICH COM F-FORCE TA KDWS TIRES What do you think of them???
I will be getting some bf goodrich comp g-force ta kdws tires for my 84 z. I had a set of kumho's on the car, but they are worn out after only 15,000 miles. I had them rotated and serviced every 5,000 mile also. They wore flat across, just wore out way too fast. So, now I am looking at gettin the bfg's and wanted to get some fellow f-body members opinions on them. What kind of wear did you get out of them, and also how do they handle. Thanks in advance. Jason
I have these tires and really like them. I haven't worn them out yet, so I can't tell you how long they'll last. They handle well.
I suspect that if you buy any soft compound tire, they will wear fairly quickly, especially if you "use" them a lot.

I bought them because i live in MA/NH and we get snow, I just wanted more traction in snow. And with these KDWS they work better than what i had in the snow (Radial T/A). I think I have 10K on them and no signs of wear, the nice suprise was the wet handling, or more specifically the lack of hydro-planing in water. After the initial breakin traction off the line was as good as the T/A's. I wont switch to anything else, but then again i need that here in New England for snow/ rain. You will enjoy them.
I have them. I wanted the KWSs but they weren't in stock at NTB and it was kind of an emergency situation (Severe blowout on the last set).
I really like them though. I have cut sub 2.00 60fts on them, they are grippy, and although snow is rarely a big issue around here we got an 8 inch blast in january and the car drove around pretty well in the first 3 inches of it. Excellent rain traction too.

Treadwear rating is like 400 isn't it. Should last a while. Had some gaterbacks that were 220 and lasted abou 20k miles.
(Chris 96 WS6)...I was checking out you webpage. Did you get your heads yet? Sounds like we got identical head work. I got about another week or so before mine get here. I am going with the 112 LSA on my XE cam though. I too am hoping for about 380rwhp. Hope I get a good tune from pcmforless.

the treadwear on the kumhos was 280. The treadwear on the BFG is 400
Still they both have AA A ratings. The kumhos handled awesome, They just wore out too dam fast. I can not afford to spend 560.00 every year for tires. I'm gonna try the bfg's. I have an appointment set up for the 15th of june.

I had two different sets of these tires. Both were excellent. It's a question of practicality mostly. The tires get 90 % of the dry traction of the super high performance tires, excellent wet traction, have some snow traction, and last twice as long. All this for about 2/3 the price.
The wet difference is amazing. I went from good KDWS to horrible high performance tires that have NO traction in the wet. The last time it rained, I was spinning in fourth! With the KDWS, I could only spin 2nd if I made a concerted effort to do it. Thank God I live in Southern California, and rain is rare and snow is that stuff you drive up to the mountains to see. :-)
By the way, if you are looking for a set of those tires, I have a set of 4 that came off my car when I put on the 17s. They are 245/40 ZR16. I put about 8,000 miles on them. I paid about 650 installed, but I'd sell them for $350 plus shipping. They are in perfect shape and still have the little pieces that stick out of the side like new tires...
