Anyone Run stock convertor with a cam?

So i just finished my cam (224/230) and long tube header install, car runs great, but i am still on the stock convertor. It boggs a little down low and really doesnt want to shift for 1st to 2nd when i get on it, it reves to almost 7000. That is BAD. I want to know if i can run the stock convertor, or if the only way to fix this is to bump up to a higher stall.I am also just running open headers, since i dont have my exhaust welded up yet. If i need a convertor, where can i get a decent quality one for under $400? Is this possible? Thanks!

You have a problem somewhere, or your tune is off. I'm running a much bigger cam and have no such issues on a stock stall

Noticed - IF you have stock 3.23 gears, there's your problem right there. Switch to some
3.73s or taller
