Anyone have a street driven solid roller?

For the record, I'm not decided on doing this, but I'm still curious. Is anyone running a solid roller cam in a car that sees street time? By this I mean summer-only low mileage driving.

Sorry for no first hand experience, but for what you are describing, I don't think a solid roller would be too bad. Depending on what you are going for. If you are going to be going to the track a lot, then definitely consider it. The biggest thing about a solid roller is that you can spin them faster than a hydraulic setup. So if you are planning on spinning between 6500-7500 then go for it. Otherwise, I think you would be OK with a hydraulic roller setup. The big setback is that you have to adjust your lash every couple thousand miles, since its rough on your valvetrain. If that's only once a year or 2 years for your situation, then its really not that big of deal. It comes down to what you have in store for your car and how much maintainance you are willing to put into it. HTH

I know a guy that was using solid roller in his motor. He was using it exactly as you described. Ran and sounded good
