Anyone have GM PArt# for Firebird headlight gears??

Yes my plastic headlight gears are chewed. And no i dont really feel like spending that much on the CNC gears coz IM not keeping the car too long. Can someone please hook me up with the part number for the stock plastic gears?? thanks alot in advance!

You only option then is buying a whole new motor from GM. They dont sell the gears.

Id buy the brass gear.

No problem.

Yep thats why brent had the brass gears made so we'd didnt have to buy a whole motor.

Cool

Might try the Free headlight fix guide from===www.bfranker.badz28.com/headlightfix/index.html
This is great if you havn't already spun the gear around to the other (reusable )side.Did mine awhile back.still working as we speak.Hope this helps.

Yeah, do a search on brass gears and you should find the solution for a 20 year old problem that should have been corrected by Pontiac to begin with. I've had to replace the motors in my 87 GTA and it sucks, $$$$$ . When my gears go in my 97 I'm ordering the brass gears. Kudos to the guy who makes them, I don't remember who at the moment.

you can buy the plastic gears from GM. they won't sell them straight out but its possible to buy if you know someone. i just bought 2 for my car a few months ago. the plastic gears seem to last between 5-8 years (if you rotate them and use both sides). i had bought 2 of the brass gears and about 2 years later the teeth on my motor was gone. i assume that the teeth on the motor isn't too strong. you'd come out much cheaper buying a plastic gear for $25X4 for about 10+ years of use than buying a brass gear and having to buy a new motor.
