Anyone Have experience with prothane motor mounts?

How the hell is this motor mount assembly gonna work? They want the mount on the pass side to be bolted together, however then the bolt heads will be in the way of the mount right? so the mount would be sitting on the 5 bolt heads instead of on the kmember?

Do not, just in case you didn't get that, DO NOT use urethane motor mounts. Unless you're trying to punish yourself for some previous life. The noise and vibration but the noise most of all will kill you. If you got a t top it's even worse.

I got a question, how the hell did you post so many times in just a month. Do you stay up 24 hours a day?

ive just been a post ***** lately cause i just did heads/cam then it blew up so now im doing a rebuild and i have a ton of questions and a ton of **** for sale.

dont worry, ill be less of a post ***** when my car actually runs.

Seems like the motor mounts are a hit/miss thing, some people love em, others hate em? some people run the solid mounts on the street.

any more opinions on these mounts?

I put in my prothane motor mounts with the help of dr. mudge here.

THe pass. side motor mount was tricky! I'm not quite sure what you're asking, but on the pass. side, once I pulled the mount, I just drilled out the rivets, popped the clamshell open, and put in the new mount.

I had to use their provided zipties to hold the clamshell together, while I bolted the entire assembly back to the k-member.

As for the noise, I don't know where you're getting that misconception. My motor isn't even in the top-shape, running kind of rough, but I noticed zero vibration/noise at idle or cruising. The car actually got a bit quieter and the engine doesn't move around as much. this is with my current setup, too.

I love my prothane motor mounts. They were a pain to put in (I had to cut the corner of the pass. side mount off for the bolt head to clear as well), but they were worth it. Engine seems to rev smoother, too.

lol ****ers. no school + no transportation = lazy post ***** bitch.

so you dont use the bolts to hold the mounts together? thats what the instructions say

how do the mounts stay together then if all that is holding them together is zipties and the instructions say you can remove the zip ties after the assembly is in place.

mineral water, you have AIM? let me know

prothane

i am currently installing these they look high quality.

all you do is drill out or grind off the old rivets and bolt the mount back together. when you bolt it back together put the nut on the engine side so they dont stick out.

thats teh problem. the bolt head is gonna stick down, so the mount will be resting on 5 bolt heads instead of the kmember.

and thats also gonna raise the motor up and wreck hell with the exhaust.) hopefully the new mounts arent much taller than the old ones so it doesntmess with the exhaust

**** im dumb, didnt check them out to closely. looks like the bolts going into the kmember will still hold both halves together DOH!

and just use bolts on the top of the pass one, not on the bottom part.
