Question Anyone had a Meizere EWP die? When?

I seen the post about the CSR EWP taking the plunge, and it made me think about my Meizere. I have had an EWP on my 95Z for about 5 years now. It is wired correctly, but I didn't do one of the warning light installs. I haven't experienced any problems, but I just worry down the road. I don't mind buying another, I just don't want to be caught out somewhere and that thing taking a poop on me.

SO. I have heard they have like a 2500 hour life span. Anyone have an idea or know for sure? The car is driven about 3k miles a year or less. So, it is not a DD in any kind of way. I had read one time that the life span would be something like, driving one hour a day, 365 days a year, for 5 years. If that is so, I am alright. Just thought I would get some opinions from everyone.

Would love to hear about some experiences.

Thanks!

don't have an answer for you...

but maybe you could pull the pump and send it in to have it "refurbished" jsut for peace of mind

Well, I don't know if I have the patience for that. Or pay the expenses of back and forth shipping, etc. Just wanted to see if anyone else had a Mezeire for the LT1 die on them, and how long it had been on prior.

I have never heard any negative on meziere pumps.
I have heard that you have to trim the fan shroud
to make it fit without hitting. Thats about it.

i have had 3 fail, first one lasted 2yrs, and the other two went out in fairly quick succession.. They're great w/ cust. service though.. so i just keep 2 and if one goes out i throw the other in and send the other one to be rebuilt.. For free.. it's been awhile since i've had my car but i suggest using the HD one rather than the regular.. they're more durable...

Is that a "no questions asked" kinda deal? I mean, do you have to fill out some kind've form explaining the nature of the failure, or meet some kind've guidelines to qualify for them to do the rebuild for free?

For those that have went out.. What is the cause(s) of failure?

I am concidering one... but my Z is not as track only car. It may see ~4500 miles /year.

Well, I guess I bought one of the good ones then! So far, so good! I hope I just didn't jinx myself though.

Mine was put in somewhere between 2000-2001.

Thanks for the replies!

Yea. Needless to say, that is the last pump that I bought or will be buying from them.

It failed within a week. Granted, that was almost 4 years ago, but they tried to blame it on the install and charge me some $50 or $100 until I posted about it on here and the owner saw it.

What type of warning lights are you talking about when the pump fails?

There is a way to wire up a small led light of some kind that will come on if the pump fails. You can run it to the inside of the car, or under the hood. If you do a search, you will probably find it on here.

Re: Anyone had a Meizere EWP die? When?

i had like 15-20K on my first one.. when i bought a 2nd one. They fixed the first one for free just had to foot shipping, and the 2nd one didn't last all that long, neither did the 3rd one.. Ion bought one of my extra one's i had.. and he didn't have much luck either.. Hit or miss i guess.. they're so easy to change i just keep a spare laying around in case..
