anyone dynoed a cc305 with stock heads

I am just wondering where I should set my shift points.I know the cam makes power to 6300 but what about with stock heads? It must drop off before then.Right now I have the car shifting at 5800.If someone had a dyno graph with similar mods to mine I should get a good idea as to what rpm the hp starts to drop off

Thanks
Dave

I generally pull 1st to 6600 and second and third to ~ 6300. Pulling 1st to 6600 and powershifting 2nd really makes the car go when it hits 2nd. It's right in the meat of the power curve.

I wish I had your mph.Maybe after I get my dynotune in the next couple of weeks. This stock tuning with the auto is killing me
I usually only trap 107-108I would do heads but they are so damn expensive even to port the stock ones is like 2k Canadian plus labour cause I dont trust myself with a big job like that

318rwhp and 327ft lbs of torque. It was pulling timing and alittle rich..
Probably would have got 330rwhp and 340ft lbs of torque with a tune.

SLP shorties, stock ypipe, CAI, Borla, 1le driveshaft, TB bypass, 48mm tb, 1.6rr, cc305 114lsa grind.

shift point at 6300rpms..
have the dyno but cant host it. hp starts to fall at about 6100 but you want to hold it at least 200rpms because your still making more power at 6300 than if u were to shift at 6100 and have the rpms fall.

Are you running stock heads with the 305? If so I doubt it's making power up to 6600rpm. I bet you would see better MPH & ET shifting out of 1st sooner, and shifting the rest earlier. I ran the times below on the hotcam with completely stock heads shifting at 6100 in all gears.

Greg I think you would run quicker if you turned that Hotcam a little more. With my car I turned the Hotcam 65-6600rpms and it loved it. Ran auto, 2800Vig. Hotcam kit, AS&M's choking it 12.20's@110mph with 3.42 gears and a portly 3650-3700lbs. With longtubes and current 3500lbs. raceweight the car would have ran 11.90's on motor with stock heads N/A. Kens95 who went 11.80's with stock heads/ Hotcam kit and claimed he turned it 6600+rpms! You never know but we are both autos with 3.42 it maybe a little ddifferent with M6"s but I would definately try turning it a little higher. later clint

T/A lt1, I'll have to try shifting it a little higher next time out and see what it does. I know I can run a much better ET with this MPH, I just need a better 60'. I'm doing some suspension work on it this weekend which I think should drop 1-2/10's off the 60'. The suspension is pretty much stock now just ES torque arm and tranny mount. I'm adding LCA's and LCA relocation brackets. I just cant get a real good 60' on it yet, I'll be real happy if I can knock 1-2/10's off it after this

Man I tell you next mod after suspension should be Longtubes if you have midlengths or shorties and a set of Lloyd Elliott heads $600. My car went from stock heads/JoeOcam @12.00's@113mph 1.66-1.68 60' to 11.66@117mph 1.69 60' only changes being having heads done by Lloyd and swapping my AS&M's for Jethot longtubes. The car had a lot more in it b/c I was on totally stock suspension but I had trouble with the stock crank. So I am putting a stock 4boltmain shortblock with 8-10kmiles with my heads and a new Joe O cam with some suspension work I should be running easy 11.40's@119mph if the weather isn't 100degrees before I get it goin. Later Clint

I posted my dyno graph in this thread - did you take a look at it? Of course the cam falls off after 6k, but it's still making 315-320 rwhp at 6600 rpm. I have tried everything and pulling first to 6500-6600 nets the best times/mph. I have found that pulling first as high as possible is almost always best because you want to take advantage of that mechanical advantage as long as possible. Of course, if the cam peaked at 5k or something you wouldn't want to pull it to 6600. Notice I only pull the motor to ~6300 rpm in 2nd and 3rd gear. These gears are longer so you don't want to run it up much past your peak hp. My car peaked at ~6k, so I shift 2-300 rpms past peak. Shifting at 6100 wouldn't help my times, I've tried.

I know the car has another ~ 10 rwhp in it with a better tune, but I'm putting a bigger cam in the car. May have new times by friday.

I love those numbers..But has anyone had the cc305 on the sniffer and passed? I live in CA and I'm afraid of doing a cam change, because it might not pass a smog test..
