Anybody using this style of MAC header?

Hello, I've heard of people using the 94-95 style MAC header so you don't get the wierd shorty header but is anybody using this style?

Supposedly they are for 95-97, and from the looks of it I think you would still need the s-pipe extension to connect it to an 96-02 catback. Does anybody know if the s connector will bolt up to the end of the y pipe?

Thanks

Re: Anybody using this style of MAC header?

Those headers will not fit any LT1 F-body. The primaries are equally spaced, which makes me think that these are for an LS1 car, or something else altogether.

crude diagram:

LT1's and all previous small block chevy's (and small block mopar motors) have exhaust ports (and thus header primaries) arranged like this:

0 00 0

LS1's, big block chevy's and all Ford motors are arranged like this:

0 0 0 0

Not sure if that makes any sense, so here is a pic of an LT1 header:

Whoa, thats wierd, glad I didn't order those! Thanks for the reply!

One more thing, for anybody thats using the 94-95 style on your 96-97 how did yopu connect it to your cat-back? Would SLP's s-pipe bolt up to the MACs?

Thanks

Yeah, those look like LS1 headers to me. And yeah, all you need to make 94-95 style headers work with 96-97 cars is get an S-pipe made up or buy one. SLP's will work for you or you can get one fabbed up at an exhaust shop.

Re: Anybody using this style of MAC header?

This topic has been covered alot on this board, here are some search results that I pulled up really quick:

search results

If that doesn't work, just type in "MAC 95-95 96-97" without the quotes into the search bar.

So much info has been covered on this site, the search function will usually answer 90% of your questions. Good luck.
