With heads, cam, orp's and full length headers my cut-out is just too lound for the street. It's a 3" cut out so thats an option. What do you guys think about using one of these in a cut-out?

No good can come of this..... I think you're gonna put those in and feel a difference and then want them out and bitch about them. No offense was meant at all. But If I had to pull everything apart 3 times then I'd be bitching too. What kinda catback/dual exhaust set-up are you running?

with my dual 3" cutouts I lose too much backpressure right now, so I've been looking for something that would reduce the noise just a tad and give me back the backpressure while being uncapped. I love the thunder it puts off, just enough exhaust trickles through to the Borla and it just sounds mean, but I lose in performance and it's risky around the cops. The cones are what I was trying to figure a way to just put in place temporarily when the caps were off. I was going to build a bolton flange for the cones to put in the cutouts place. But again I have dual cutouts and those that use the single cutout on stock exhaust before the axle I've heard of no problems or it being too loud. Usually because they are running cats though too. I have no cats

So how is it with the cut-out closed? Where do you have the cut-out located? I mean its a good idea, but I'd hate to see you put that stuff in and hate the difference. Good Luck....

It sounds great closed, it has a stock sound but meaner and louder, not at all offensive. When I dont want to worry it's perfect, a real sleeper until your right next to it. The cut-out is located just in front of the axle. When everything was stock the cut-out was loud but marginally acceptable for a daily driver however, its just outragous now. I can't even THINK about driving around with it open now and I miss having that option.
