i read an article in super chevy or chevy high perf. where they did a comparission between m/t and nitto. Pretty close results and the they said the nittos felt way more stable and were a better all around tire.

they're comparing apples to oranges here. Nobody -and at least not me- is going to buy MT for an all around tire. I think MT will outdo Nittos any day at the track.
Nittos you can run in the street and at the track. However, they suck in wet traction.

Thunder Racing is now carrying MT 17" tires.

I dont understand how you call that comparing apples to oranges. They are comparing to Drag RADIALS. Not slicks. To me a drag radial is a tire you can drive with on the street every day, get decent tread life, decent handling and take it to the track and cut some awesome 60 foot times. The nitto dr is the overall hands down winner. It gets amazing traction for a street tirel, handles well, and many people get 10,000 miles out of a set. I never understood why someone would buy drag radials for "track only" use. Why not get slicks. Drag radials are meant to be used on the street and provide good drag traction. Maybe i am missing something

I have to disagree. I've been running Nittos on my Z28 and Lightning daily. (well not so daily with the Z lately) The wet traction has never been a problem. Basically, Nittos have been as good or better than OEMs for me outside of the poor treadwear.
