Anybody else having problem with their flps longtubes?

This afternoon I was coming home from classes and my exhaust starts ticking and started to get really loud under the passenger side. I immediatly got off the highway and while doing so I heard a metal clunk and could fell that I ran something over. Anyway, luckily I was only like 2 minutes from my place. I took it back there and got it up on jacks and the passenger side header clamp was completely gone , the headers have been on for close to a year and the clamps have been fine up until today. Anyway I called up figuring that for $1400 bucks something as simple as a clamp would be warrantied, I talked to mitch I believe it was and was very disgusted with his attitude. He told me how can I warranty something that's not there , obviously it would have been there if it worked right and didn't break off. He also accused me of improperly installing them, when the fact is they where installed at a very reputable, well known shop(won't mention names cause they're not a sponsor here). Other things I've had go wrong are the following: 2 blown passenger side header gaskets, with installation and the gasket it set me back 80 bucks each time and that was discounted(the shop told me that this was most likely due to a warped header flange) . Next on the list was the headers would bang the floor pan, luckily the shop readjusted them for free and said thats it was a common problem that they've seen many times. Lastly the coating from the y-pipe all the way to the and including collectors has completely fallen off and is rusting. And now what happened this afternoon, after paying 1400 I'm said to say that I feel that I should be getting a better product but MUCH more importantly better service.

Those sound like the exact problems I have. And when I called FLP to ask about the coating issue I got much of the same attitude you did.

Damn, that really blows. I was planning on purchasing FLP's a while back, but ran into financial troubles so did not. Now, I have no regrets. I think that I'll go with Jethot.

Brad,
Sorry to hear about all the trouble you are having with your FLP's. I think you are right for $1400 they should be warrantied. If they are giving you attitude about something like that I think that is B.S.. I will give my business and refer friends to other local shops. With what they charged you guys they should serving you with a smile.

Yea, seems that once they sell the outragously priced headers to the public, that its the last step in the process that they care about...Once they get paid, so it *seems* (keyword) that they could careless about making it right or better. At least pretend like you give 2 sh*ts about your product having problems. They dont see that eventually, this poor customer service, will bite them in the a** in the future..As my ECON professor said,
Example...He used to buy like a cd a week from best buy or something like that...He tried to return a open one that had a problem with it, and they wouldnt take it back. Now they lost a customer that you seem doesnt mean anything right? Take that 1 cd per week, and times that over many many years, and they are losing A TON of money...Thats not including all the other stuff he would buy there as well...

Ifs a different situation, but they are going to lose old customers in the future..

This isnt the only trouble i've heard from them as well. My friend got his trans done and they had a lot of customer service problems with that as well...

Again this is all from what i hear and see, so im not implying anything. But when i did talk to him personally, he talk to me like i was just some kid and that i wasnt important. And others have gotten the same attitude..Remeber, us kids are the future and we'll be spending big big money some day to these shops..

I too have had my fair share of problems with FLP, the worst of which was a warped flange. FLP refused to believe that their flanges weren't straight, so I took it to a machine shop and unfortunately they screwed up the header. Had they offered to replace it, I would have done that. I've also had the coating problem along with one of the cats crapping out after 4 months (they did replace the cat for free). If I could do it over again, I would have gone with Hooker long tubes. Oh well, live and learn. I just don't recommend them to anyone.

I've had them on my car for about a year and haven't had any major problems. Except, the y-pipe banging against the floorboard and my sub frame connectors, and I blew out one of the crappy gaskets they sent with them. Switched over felpro's and have been fine. Let me ask you guys a question. Do your FLP's tick? Mine make a lot of noise, and the only thing I can think of is the clamps around the cats, are not sealing up very good, but I've taken them off and reinstalled them several times, but I always get the ticking sound.

Actually no I haven't had any leaks at the orp/cats, the only thing I think it could be would be a warped flange. Take off the clamps and hold the cat in place and see if any off the flanges have gaps between each other.

I have the same problem, I can never get a perfect seal with the v-clamps. It doesn't really matter though, as long as the leaks are after the O2 sensors you're fine. I've scanned my car and everything is okay. One thing that has worked for me in the past was using aluminum foil around the connection and putting the v-clamp over that. It kind of acts like a gaskets and prevents leaks. It doesn't always work though...
