any1 ever fix a bad gas mileage situation?

any1 ever fix a bad gas mileage situation?

I mean like 10-12mpg. any1 actually fixed it? and if so what fixed it for you? thanks


oh yeah i hear a bad EGR vavle will destroy gas mileage... true/false?? how to test if you feel like telling, I will utilize the search function as well on this...

02's, wires, plugs, pcv vavle, fuel filter, cai filter clean, diff maf, new tps, new map...all less than a year old, just changed my coil today, from intial reading, results aren't promisiing

Ouch you replaced all that and still have bad miles per gal. How hard are ya hitting the gas pedal?? I know not funny, but mine also sucks the gas down really bad I never really checked it but a sunday drive just around town almost time to fill up I just figured V-8 gas hog.

Did you use GM O2s?

Have you had the pcm scanned for codes?

With a clogged cat. wouldnt you also lose power when you hit the gas????

somewhat yea

my brother had a clogged cat in his corolla, cause he didnt use 91 octane, and he started noticing it when he would get more power when he didnt hit the gas all the way down, at full throttle it would be going slower then like 90% throttle

but i donno much about it

yup, used GM O2's from jason cromer. and i do have power loss, some low end but especially on the top end. as for how hard i hit the gas, hardly never above 2500 rpm

yup always 93 octane, even went the extra 1 octane on sunoco 94 octane before

no I am not...? but always 93 octane since i had it for about 2 years. i see what ur heading at....assuming the person b4 used something less than 91+ octane and ruined the cats?

yea my brother just went to the dealer still under warrenty but i think it was like $200 to unclog the cat
