Any way to test an O2 sensor?
Any way to test an O2 sensor?
I checked my spark plugs and noticed I've been running a little rich. Is there any way to test my O2 sensors, or do I just have to replace them and see if the problem goes away? It might have been an exhaust leak in the stock manifold - to y-pipe connection that was throwing off my AFR, but I'm not sure. Also, is there any way to clean an O2 sensor? Brake cleaner?
Your PCM should throw a code if you have a bad O2 sensor.
otherwise, I think the best way to check it is to have a LT1 edit cable, or take it to someone that as a diagnostic machine.
But I've also seen on another thread that you can use a volt meter and check one of the o2 sensor wires (purple wire maybe?) and its supposed to be within a certain voltage range (like .5V to 1V) or something.

I have a laptop/cable with Tunercat and Datamaster. I haven't fooled around with it too much yet, and the car isn't running right now (I pulled the plugs to install headers, and I'm doing the prep work now - car has no exhaust at all and no oil). So what should I look for on Datamaster when I fire her back up?
all I know is the numbers are supposed to jump around for O2 sensors (I'm not sure what the range is or if it matters). If you get a static reading then its bad.
try a search maybe, I'm sure you can find a lot.
