Any way to make Crane Gold SA rockers work with 10-degree retainers/locks?
Mechanic says the retainers are keeping the rockers from even being able to reach the valves. I'm guessing I'm going to have to switch to non self aligning rockers with a narrower body and use guideplates (I'd rather use this setup anyway) ...however, if the expense is avoidable I'd rather stick with the SA rockers I already have. Any suggestions for a good quality 1.6 RR that will work with the 10 degree stuff? I would like to go fully rollerized (not just the tip) and need a narrow body I guess. The Harland Sharp rockers are a good price at $197.95 from Summit PN: CSP-S1002 ...those any good or should I go with Comp's or Crane again? This catalogue isn't specifying whether or not they're SA or NSA darn it!
If the self alignment ears are hitting the keepers or retainer try some lash caps and longer push rods comparable to the thickness of the lash cap,If the guide pads will go over them.
Might work and save you a bunch of money and time.

Thanks for the replies, sound like some good ideas. I spoke with Lloyd Elliot about this and he said if I want to go the route of different rockers the Comp Pro Magnums would be the best. He says longer pushrods may be a fix if they are needed to correct geometry anyway. My mechanic doesn't think that will be a fix though ...this stinks. I was wondering if lash caps could be a fix even though I don't know what they really are ....I'll look into this.
caps
Lash caps are a round cup that fit over the valve stem and come in verious thicknesses, usually .060.If the rocker is hitting on the under side where the pivot brg is,you can cut a recess in them to clear.(don't cut to much).A machine shop can cut them on an end mill to get them all the same. If you are trying to use the SA rocker's, just buy a set of non SA,guide plates, and push rods to clear if the SA rockers won't clear the lash cap's at the stem.
