Any suggestions why my exhaust is popping
I have a 95 Z28 vert. Not too long ago I changed the plugs & wires because the car was running rough. Everything was fine then this week the car started running rough again and a popping sound was coming from the magnaflow exhaust. Tonight I changed the fuel filter & the car is now running smooth again but why am I still getting a popping sound when I floor it (stops after the rpm's & speed increase).
Regards.

ANy suggestions on how I get my old oxygen sensors off they are so tight the Y pipe is coming with the wrench & I dont want to strip it. Should I cut the wire & try my impact wrench?

Re: Any suggestions why my exhaust is popping
First off, try removing the o2's while the car is warm. if that doesnt work, soak the o2's in liquid wrench or your favorite penetrating lubricant and remove them the next day As for the popping, I would posit that it is caused by a problem in the ignition system. My car had almost the same symptoms, and it turned out to be a destroyed plug boot. When the car is placed under load, the enriched mixture is not being completely combusted and your engine is either missing or backfiring.

Re: Any suggestions why my exhaust is popping
I am hearing different things from different people. Its not a major problem by any means but what I'm getting is some guys on the message board sayin change your O2 sensors, but my mechanic tells me it could be a bad plug (now pullin each plug would be a hassle). I think I'm going to clean my MAF & throttle body if that doesn't do it I may just put up with the rough idle & exchaust popping. I'm not sure that its hurting the performance of the car, I still get 400kms to a tank, I can't remember getting any better than that before.
BTW I appreciate the help & suggestions.
