Any specific soldier to extend 02 wires?

Any specific soldier to extend 02 wires?

I cut into the wire and spliced them a couple of years ago. I'm going back and repairing them. The place is to soldier the wires, heat shrink, wire loom, then reflective tape.

Any tips?

Also what type of soldier do i use if anything specific.

Normal electrical solder will do (unless you need a soldier from the military to help you ). You should be extending the car harness, not the harness that is part of the O2. They use stainless steel wire and should not be modified as it can compromise the function of the sensor.

Just get a normal 60% tin/40% lead resin core solder (not acid core).
If you're a soldering noob, USE flux paste!

I just went through a very fun couple of months trying to locate my cars puttering and backfiring problem. I talked to Bryan at pcmforless who did my tune, and he told me to get o2 extensions because the soldering effects the resistance to the o2's. Got new extension harness $38.00 and some new o2's and problem solved. I did exactly what you did with the soldering, heatshrink etc. The extensions were the best $38.00 I spent on my car, other than the $6,000 to build the engine of course.

I just used amp splices and electricl tape. No problems for years.

I used the crimp connectors and the funky white wire that came with the Pacesetter headers.

Incredibly that was back in 2004.

Yeah i just redid mine, Some of the wires were actually pulled out of the crimps.

It's good practice to try to pull barrell crimps apart, they usually will very easily unless you use a good ratcheting style crimper and quality nylon terminals.

I thought i did, i even have a Klein tool that's designed to crimp stuff. The terminals i used where crappy though.
