Any recent problems with LT4 ED timing set

I am getting ready to order a timing set but I want to stay with the stock water pump. Has anyone had any problems with the LT4 ED timing set. I don't want to pay the money for the comp cams one. Thanks ahead for any input.

The GMPP's LT1/LT4 Heavy Duty timing set is excellent. No problems from mine and it is so much better than the oem LT4 set.

No probs here just make sure you use the waterpump drive gear. Some guys don't change it and thats where the problems begin.

You can also search for more info. To quote 1racerdude:

If it is a build then check to see if the lifter oil galley plugs (at the edge of the WP gear) have a .030 hole in each one. If they don't there is your problem.
In all other installs where the WP gear is replaced it seems to be working
great, me included.

Is there any alternative timing set to OEM out on the market that is better without converting to a late-model opti setup?
