Any problems installing Pacesetters?

Hey all,

Just would like to know if anyone has ever had any trouble installing Pacesetter LTs on their 94-95 LT1. My expirence has been mostly w/ Hooker LTs, and I know they have some differences, mainly price.

Can some of you take a few minutes to tell me how the installation of your Pacesetters went?

Thanks bunch!

Hey Angela!

No real difference in the install. Took some pics of both...

There are some difference (like the flanges) but I figured you'd see that in the pics

Re: Any problems installing Pacesetters?

Pretty straightforward job, only problem areas I ran into was the heat shield on the passenger side floor (had to remove it) the steering knuckle (had to bend the primary a little) and the fact that the driver's side collector sits on the fuel & brake lines (wrapped them in Thermo-Tec 2,000* tape). Also, the wires for the starter and battery ground, as well as wiring for other things needed to be moved a little on the car because they sat on the primary. I used some of the heat shield I removed from the passenger side to make a heat shield for the wires.

Just did it on my friend's 94 Z28 last week. Removed steering linkage and put it in through the top oon the driver's side and then up the bottom on the passanger side. It was all too easy comparing it to my Jet-Hot install. The headers definitely arent the same quality IMO but the Pacesetter's will get the job done.

just figured id throw out a warning here... i have seen some people have problems with these not sealing well due to a surface that isnt totally flat, so make sure you check that out before you go ahead and bolt them up... also i have heard a few people having problems with them hitting the floorboards.... just figured id let you know. cant say you havent been warned, lol

Re: Any problems installing Pacesetters?

Just installed my headers not to long ago. Install went pretty smooth. I had the problem with the headers hitting the floorboard, changed out my motor mounts and the problem was solved. Plug access is pretty good too. I would buy them again for sure.
