I would like to see one that really caused damage, like a High RPM destruction.

I've got one with a destroyed rotor and cap. I'll try to get some pics up later. It appears the rotor came into contact with the cap and all hell broke loose.

I think 90% of the time the opti is destroyed due to the dowel pin on the camshaft being too long. The dowel pushes on the opti and causes it to turn out of balance and break things.

I just want to see an Opti that is destroyed. My dowel was set by More Performance when I ordered my cam, and I measured it to be within Specs for a 96 LT1, which the motor is.

Mine isnt going to show much, it was just corroded on each terminal and on the rotor. I dont know how, but you think they would use non-corrosive meteals.

Here is mine. What a brittle piece of plastic this rotor was.

Re: Any Pics of Destroyed Optis?

LOL That is hillarious. I've got to say they could have done a lot to make the opti a much better product. Like water proofing it, and not making it 99% out of plastic, and not using corrosive metal inside.

If they did the above mentioned things, it would probably never need replacing.
