I have a 97z with CAi, no cats, pacesetter longtubes and flowmaster muffler do I have a chance of a least holding an Ls1 off? My buddie just bought one and it is bone stock! Thanks guys

 

You have a chance, not much of a chance, but a chance. It also depends on transmission, Is yours a t-56, is his? Can you drive? Can your friend drive? In any light, you have a shot.

 

We are both 6 speeds and in my opinion I can drive but i don't think he can as well. I will talk him into using traction control!!!

 

If you can launch good, in a 1/4 he might not catch you.

 

yes you have a chance. But when your friend finds out how to upgrade his LS1, look out again.

Only one way to find out, just go ahead and race him. Then you will know for sure.

i have a 97 TA with CAI, no cats, bullet mufflers with an M6. i'm a pretty decent driver (or at least i'd like to think so). I raced my friend with a '00 TA with an A4. his is bone stock. he can still outrun mine. not so much through first and second gear. but once we hit third, he can pull on me till his back bumper is even with my front. so you might have a little trouble keeping up with his once he learns how to drive that m6.

I predict he will take you. You'll jump him down low and he'll come back and get you.

 

As long as he doesnt have longtubes and the rest bolt ons I think it will be close. I have pulled on some LS1's and had others that barely pull on me. All in all its very close. If the Ls1 has the same mods as you then of course he should pull on you.

 

That is what I figured, but if he beats me I will just spray it!!!
