Any 93 owners out there change their own EGR???
Okay, so z28max and I tried to take out the EGR out of my car today, we spent roughly 6 hours, and no F**KING luck.
Max has changed his just about 3 weeks ago, so I asked him if he could help me, so...
What happened is that apparently the passenger side air hose that ultimately connects to the air pump via this funky-*** upside down u pipe that wraps around the back of the engine passenger side to driver's side piece of SHAT thing is in the way. Max tried his best, we both tried to loosen up the part of that air tube way in the back, had to buy a long 1 inch socket, that sucker would not budge, it's directly in the way of one of the bolts that holds the EGR valve, so after hours of fidgeting & huffing & puffing, we just couldn't do it.
The 94's & up models has that air pump tube around the front of the engine, the gas lines go to the back, at least that's the way Max's red Z28 is, my 93 is the opposite.
Anyone out there with a 93 find a way to take off their EGR???
Looks like I'll have to take it to someplace with the proper tools to have them replace it...

ive taken mine off a long while back, cant remember how but i did it with regular socket set. i think i may have taken the fuel rails off first. try removing all hoses etc. but it can be done. no need to pay a dumbazz mechanic to do it. mines bit the dust again so i will need to do it again soon, but not yet so i cant give you a step by step.

How do you know it bit the dust???
What are the symptoms?
Believe it or not, the EGR on my car has 168K miles on it, it's the original!
Anyway, When you do it again, could you let me know? I would greatly appreciate it!

Hmmm...
Is the EGR connected to the fuel rails???
Or is it that I remove the fuel rails first, and THEN I'll have access to the EGR???
If it's the latter, then what about that damn airpump hose POS back there? It'll still be in the way, won't it?

no the fuel rails are in the way. you need to take that off first then take it from there, if somethings in the way take it out should be very easy. but you have to do most of it by touch and feel unless you manage to shove you head back there.
