another what to do next thread (this ones got some spunk)

all right so the story goes i have a full bolton camaro lt1 that i blew the head gasket on and so after this happened i decided to take it a little farther and throw some le2 heads and le1 cam ( so i can pass smog) well a week after having it all back together i have a bad case of rod knock... So now i have to rebuild the engine (being taken out as we speak) now my question to all of you is what would you do. i have 1700$ for bottem end PARTS ONLY....

Labor/ machine work will be handled afterwards. what kind of setup would you go with. All i know is i want to stay the same compression, run forged pistons, play with some nitrouse later on (100-150shot preferbaly) and use all arp connecting bolts. i was thinking of a 383 but that might cost to much. And im not sure if my cam will be able to support a 383. So im leaning towards a 355 with 6" rods. Any suggestions on this setup? or waht parts to use? any help is greatly needed
6 speed going to be using 4.10's so help me out here
