Another ticking sound confusion

Car is fine at start up but when it warms up it ticks pretty good on the driver side. Sounds like a lifter but I'm not sure. A guy told me to sea foam the oil then run synthetic and that could fix it. Hell if I know what do you think ?

Ive heard some educated people on here say not to use things like that on the engine, but that is what I have heard/read. As far as synthetic goes I thought thats what nice engines should have in them anyways.

seafoam can ruin an engine. You would basically be pouring paint thinner in the motor.

I am thinking its an exhaust header/maifold gasket leak. Many folks are quick to point to a lifter rather than the leak.

DO NOT SEAFOAM THE OIL. Nothing goes in the oil but oil period. Additives IMHO can cause a bearing to wipe and then burn up.

It is fine IMO to suck Seafoam into the motor through the opti suction line on the intake. This will clean the carbon and gunk from the pistons and intake valves. I would also change the oil after doing this.

Also if you do have an exhaust leak, the above procedure above is a sure fire way of finding the leak. If its a burned up header gasket, smoke will come out the leak no matter how small it is.

Look for an exhaust leak before pulling valve covers. If the valvetrain is stock and the covers have never been pulled, I doubt its a loose lifter.
