My heads have the pushrod pinch area welded up. I have crower .150" offset rocker arms for the intakes. Ive only done cylinder #1 so far.

The way I did this was to adjust as close to the intake port as I felt comfortable:

This set the rocker tip up to the valve like this:

I then adjusted the exhaust centered:

I dont feel comfortable with the way the intake roller tip is on the valve. Its not centered. Is this a problem? I tried the other 3 rockers after these pics, and found one that was a little closer. Weird how far off these can be from eachother.

I would step out on a limb and say you can have SOME variance. But FWIW, I tried to get mine all as even as I could. It takes time.

But in all honesty, I would think that you want to be less than say 1/32" off in either direction.

It's places like this where time and patience really pay off. Take your time. Do it right. And do it once. You dont want to get sloppy now with it this close to being done. I can't wait to see what your set up turns out like. Should be a real beast.

Thats how I got them from Lloyd. Im not messing with them. Besides, their already torqued down.

Lloyd recommended the GM guide plates to me (PN 14011051). I've read about fittment
issues with other brands. The GMs fit like a glove on every cylinder.

NOTE: The complete setup was with Comp SS NSA rockers and complementing components.

I'm a bit baffled by your setup. If you run LE3 heads then why are you running "offset" rockers? This is new to me. Explain please.

I'll look at this a little closer when I'm not trying to look at your pics on my computer thru another computer (the resolution is off). What HardcoreRM125 said is good advice just do that and you will be fine.

FWIW all the clearance you need for a pushrod from whatever it hits is about .050" clearance

Well it looks like some other cylinders were even worse than this one. Im gonna have to get out my die grinder and a stone and massage me some push rod room, lol. Ill call Lloyd and see what minimum intake wall thickness he recommends. With just a little more room, I can center each one perfectly.

So you have the other set of heads ;)

They are LE-X heads BTW :D I should know I named them ;) After many hours of talking with Bret and Lloyd the idea was hatched and it worked!

I have had great luck with the rockers so far. I am using Jegs(Lunnati?) rockers. Originaly we thought stock rockers would work but not even close. My push rods are actually straighter then they were from the factory after all was said and done.

Ellis, yours were welded up to eliminate the bad casting areas with hopes of running standard rockers and straightened that wall out pretty well. Josh's were actually done more than yours and the pushrod walls were kicked over .125 from stock and were done to "require" the .150 offset rocker.

These heads are basically a strait shot on both walls from the gasket area past the pushrod. They have the cross section of a ported TFS/AFR head. They worked good on the bench and where very quiet.

The material left in this area is all good material (as opposed to the stock "cast" area with porous material and casting lines) so you can get it pretty thin. Just make sure and mark the head where you need material removed and remove only what is needed for the PR to fit as opposed to removing matrial from the entire wall.
